FAQ

What is Masa’opo?

Masa’opo is a cultural brand initiative led by the Taoyuan City Indigenous Peoples Development Foundation. Through performances, film, music, workshops, talks and cultural action, it presents Taoyuan’s cultural position as a place where ancestral homeland, city, international movement and diverse peoples meet.

Where do the events take place?

Masa’opo events are held at venues across Taoyuan according to each programme, which may include performance spaces, cultural venues, outdoor sites, community spaces or other partner locations. For exact locations, directions and meeting points, please see the individual programme pages.

Who is Masa’opo for?

Whether or not you are of Indigenous descent, everyone with an interest in Indigenous cultures, contemporary art, music, urban culture, questions of ethnicity, or life in Taoyuan is welcome to take part in Masa’opo.

Can I still attend if an event is full or registration has closed?

If an event is full, closed, or cannot take additional places because of venue limits, the announcement for that event applies. Some events may offer a waiting list or on-site places — please keep an eye on the website and our official social channels.

Do events require registration or a ticket?

This varies by event. Some are free to enter, while others require advance registration, booking or a ticket. Please refer to “How to take part” and the event status shown on each programme page.

How can I get updates or contact the organiser?

The Masa’opo website carries the latest programmes, announcements, stories and participation details. For partnership, press, registration or other enquiries, please use the contact details given in our official announcements.
